No offense, Chris, but part of that might be because the christians don't want to be on your so obviously atheist website. I don't mean to sound like an anti-atheist when I say that, I'm just being realistic.

ReplyDeleteI don't mind arguing on here. It's just not the kind of thing you should have to send in an application for. It's stupid (Sorry Chris) If you know what side we're on, we shouldn't have to send in one of your stupid applications. And, even if we're not 'official,' We ARE official in God's eyes, and that's enough. If we believe, we shouldn't have to apply to be able to present the facts.

ReplyDeleteInstead of being born in Christian-laden Michigan in 1995ish, what if you were born in the year 1995 in Israel. Do you think you would be devout bible thumping Christians? What about the year 1995 in what is now Saudi Arabia? Jews and Muslims respectively, you would be. Heck, if you were born in 1995 in Afghanistan, you might even be willing to blow yourself up for Allah.
Your religious choice has more to do with who raised you than what is the 'truth.' Chris, our handy atheist-parent representative in this discussion never had any religion thrust upon him. He is free to choose any religion he wants to. I know his Mom and Dad, they would never stop him if he chose to follow any religion. They are open that way. As long as he is a good person, kind to other souls, not evil, then they are happy and will not quash his ideas. All y'all who live your happy Christians lives are free to do so, and if you need your fairy tale entities to sleep well at night, so be it. Kids fall asleep on Christmas eve with the same thoughts of Santa in their heads (Be good so Santa brings you toys!) Funny, most adults know that Santa is a crock, yet we still teach young children it. And the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.
You get my wrath when you start saying that us atheists are lower than all you theists. You are not alone. Us atheists (according to some polls) are respected less than rapists. I wish I was joking. Last I checked, no atheist killed a fellow human for their LACK of religious belief, but every day hundreds of people all over the world kill BECAUSE of their religious belief.
Oh, and by the way, I am very much real, and not Chris's alter-ego.
